Spring Break
As usual our family has been on-the-go for weeks and I thought, it's about time I share with my friends and family what it is we do. So I'm going to begin with Spring Break. The kids and I were so happy to have some time off from our regular schedule of math, science, spelling, essays and so on. We started our Spring Break by creating a list of activities the kids wanted to do. Then it was to the ballot! Our final list was penciled into the calendar and our adventures began! Monday, April 6th was a day of catch-up. We did chores, doctor visits and just laid around. On Tuesday we went to the movie theaters and watched Monsters vs. Aliens in 3D. Madeline's first experience with 3D was pretty cute, she kept moving her head as if she had to dodge things. Then Devon had orchestra practice. I am amazed with the music he is able to create. Wednesday was a great day, Nathan had his Monart class. He painted the Yosemite Mountains with a castle on the crest. It is beautiful and I am so proud of him. Then Nana drove down from Sonora! We were ecstatic to see her and Torrey. The next day we were off to the San Diego Zoo. Nana spoiled us (like usual) and bought us season passes. So now we have the luxury to visit all year long! Well I think we saw every animal there. The animals were all so playful and happy. We walked our buns off-ok not exactly true, but wishful thinking. Devon was able to show Nana all the animals he wants which covers most of the animals there. Yes, Devon's dream is to open his own zoo. Friday we tried going to Palm Springs, but it was so windy we ended up turning around. We instead rented some movies and hung around the house. Saturday, Auntie (Nana) and I went SHOPPING! Yes, she spoiled us some more. She bought beautiful decor for my home, clothes for the kids, and LOTS of clothes for me. I'm a brat. Grandma Debbie flew in and Joel (Jason's brother) and Ava (our beautiful niece) drove in from Las Vegas. We were all so happy to see everyone. The next day Grandpa Ron, Justin (Jason's twin), his girlfriend Mindy and Janella (Jason's sister) joined us. We had a full house and ate our hearts out. We had to say good-bye to Nana and for the rest of Easter we played badminton, had water balloon fights and ate some more. I had so much fun playing with Ava and Madeline. They are getting so big and beautiful. On Monday we talked Jason, Grandma Debbie and Janella into going back to the zoo. My kids were pretty happy about this since that also meant extending our Spring Break one extra day. We had a blast and stayed until our feet ached. We kissed Grandma and Janella goodbye and headed back to the headquarters. I have to say that was a wonderful Spring Break. It is such a blessing to have family together and to be able to celebrate the resurrection of Christ with them. God has blessed me with such a beautiful family.
